Description
Airing on NBC from '73-'78, the anthology series, based on the work of ex-cop turned author Joseph Wambaugh, became the archetype for many critically-acclaimed cop shows that followed. With no regular cast, the show rotated actors and further distinguished itself from its predecessors by its multidimensional portrayal of its protagonists. Its gripping episodes took on difficult issues like police corruption and the stresses that can come with a cop's life.
